Green Hedges in Vienna. Band teacher, so kids have him 4th-8th as band is required. He’s also a middle school advisor.

And an AA male 9th grade Dean that also teaches the entire 7th grade.

Both of Burke’s PE teachers are AA males.

I would, however, choose a school that has a history of hiring excellent black male role models and will continue to do so, such as Gilman. Several black male teachers and administrators are also alumni of the same institution

So lets say you move to a school that has that for you in 3rd grade- that is one year, and you have just made a major change for that year. And who is to say he is even a better teacher than the teacher at your current school? I understand you wanting your child to have that role model, but the truth is there are not many black male elementary teachers in general anywhere. A black female teacher is much more likely. I'm not sure you should chase this. There's a lot of turnover among teachers -- and a lot of them leaving the profession. A lot of talented young teachers become administrators.
