Nope, we are here for a solid decade. The next decade will be bouncy hair, side parts, high ponytails, and possibly some beehive type hair styles. Ladies, stock up on Oscar Blandi dry shampoo. Same. I look much better in big hair, so am glad the 80s are back.

I have fine hair and I've always done a little lift at the roots like the prior picture. I hated that totally flat on top look -- looks like Wednesday Addams or the Kate Moss in her heroin-chic look days. Unless you have thick heavy hair like Cher, most people look better with a little body/lift.

On the fur question someone raised upthread....that's probably a different thread, but I'm pretty over caring about the fur issue. People are all up in arms about down now, and there's so much environmental harm from most of the non-natural products used to make warm clothes. Even wool is not great, as those sheep fart all over creating methane. There's so much vintage fur around it seems dumb not to wear it, and instead destroy the environment by creating a new product. Even "new" fur is probably more environmental than wool or synthetics. The fact is that humans are crappy for all other animals and the environment, so many of these issues are sort of "pick your poison" --- I have bigger problems with the fact that these stars are flying all over in their private jets, constantly buying new clothes and home decor, etc., etc.. I'll give them a pass on the fur -- those animals aren't going to do so well once we destroy the planet anyway.

I’m with you, OP. This is the kind of style that looks best on me too. Maybe it’s my narrow-ish face shape, but I need a style with some body on the sides.

OP again. This is the look I'm going for. It's not like huge and teased like the exaggerated version I posted at the top of the thread. But it's blow out, with height at the hairline and crown, and the hair is round and soft and wavy instead of straight.

My hair has a ton of wave/body in it but isn't naturally thick. It looks best with a blowout with a big round brush, or if I let the waves air dry with some curl cream and then brush them out. But it's *big*. My hair does not do sleek very well and it is a ton of work to make it do that. It wants to be big and round.

My face also looks better when I have height in my hair. Like my face looks really good with a teased crown and a bun or twist in back. Not as gigantic as Naomi Watts' bouffant on feud, but like a modern, smaller version of the same idea. It's like the height of my hair gives me a little face lift and makes my cheekbones pop, and makes my features look more harmonious. I don't know why!

Anyway, I'll be rocking a tamer version of big hair for sure.

It did not look good on my in the 80s (and I rocked it hard) so it definitely won't look good on me in my 50s...lol.
