Everything in this thread is a wonderful suggestion, but I really love to see chips and a Helluva good dip at a gathering...because this is the only time I allow myself to have these foods. I don't buy them ever so as low key lame as it sounds, good chips and a dip at a party are so my jam.

This plus something fresh like bruschetta or Caprese skewers

Caprese skewers are the worst. Unless it’s from your backyard, cherry tomatoes taste like crap and need to have dressing to be palatable

Not if you use Sugar Bombs.

Something cheesy and gooey - baked brie, spinach and artichoke dip, Rotel queso, etc.

Something rich and chocolatey

Fresh fruit

1.) A warm dip, like a cheesy bean dip or butternut squash

2.) Something hearty-ish, like pinwheel sandwiches or subs cut up small

3.) Brownies

How about dates stuffed with blue cheese and wrapped in bacon?

+1 on deviled eggs. I often make deviled eggs for potlucks and they are always the first things that get eaten all up. I've learned to stick two in the fridge to eat when I get home because I often don't even get one at the party.

Another classic: pigs in a blanket. I would never make that for myself, but if I go to a party and see pigs in a blanket with a little mustard dip? I'm psyched.

Once at a wedding I went to, the served tiny grilled cheese sandwiches with little cups of tomato soup dip. That was awesome. The sandwiches were cut into heart shapes but you could do any shape.
