I'm a mid-50s mom and have worn Sambas for years - waaaay before they became trendy. They're just so completely comfortable. I'll continue to wear them as long as I like. They're my go-to sneak.

Haha I remember the 90s cheerleading shoes--Kaepas, with the triangles in your school colors.

Nobody, that's the point. They are basically disposable shoes so why should you splurge so much on them.

But that's if you actually walk. Maybe it's fine if you drive more.

I'm a woman that wore them to play indoor soccer in the 1980s . They used to be the only indoor soccer shoe.

I am in my 50s and I got a few of the ones that are just now popular---pink suede several years ago. I always seem to be way ahead of the trend. I had gray New Balance before they became a men's staple. In fact, 5 years ago I gave my barely worn pair to my 8th grader at the time when his foot was the same size.

Fashion sneakers are fine for us old women. A lot of Europeans have always been wearing them...and I see them on a lot of older celebs now...which means I am now moving on from them...

Which color Sambas seem to be most popular, or does anything go right now? Trying to pick a new pair of sneakers for a March Europe trip and appreciate the advice!

This is so funny to me. These were my lifting shoes 13 years ago and I think I donated them a few years ago looking nearly new.
