Mine is generous to a fault, really smart and the most dependable/responsible person I know. He also has a great sense of humor, he does have plenty of flaws but these good attributes make me overlook the flaws.

He’s calm. He doesn’t yell or get flustered by things. He’s relatively mentally healthy (we sometimes deal with jealousy issues but nothing crazy). He does what he says he is going to do.

And he tolerates a lot of crap from me. I’m none of those things. Except a yeller. I’m not a yeller.

He is a very kind, friendly guy who can make almost anyone comfortable.

He's the kind of dad who will get down on the floor and play with the kids.

He is not a complainer. He will shoulder 100% of the household labor if I am sick or solo parent for a work trip of mine without a single complaint (and I will always come home to a clean house).

He tends to instinctively give people the benefit of the doubt. Sometimes I think he goes too far (some people are just jerks!) but it's a lovely first impulse, and I have been trying to follow his lead in this and tamp down my cynicism.
