So sorry OP! My youngest son did something similar to this when we were decorating our Xmas tree one year. He was beneath me and I was stooped down a bit and he raised up all of a sudden and his head cracked my mouth so hard that my bottom teeth nearly came all the way through my lower lip. No broken teeth but you should have seen my fat lip! I joked that my husband punched me but seriously it was purple all the way down to my chin and soooo swollen for almost a week. I can still feel the scar tissue on the inside of my lip and it's been over 10 years

Lol thanks PP! Turns out despite one looking not great it's just a bonding / filling fix. They just couldn't do it today so I have to avoid hot & cold for a few days

I’ve been paranoid ever since because I already have two fake front teeth from a childhood injury. I’m so sorry, OP. Even with my pediatrician’s warning, I’ve had so many close calls. And this doesn’t go away- every time my DD has a growth spurt she loses spatial awareness for a couple of months and becomes dangerous again!

Wow! That’s a pretty thoughtful doctor.

My nephew broke my SIL's nose doing that. Ouch! One of my kids caused me permanent hearing loss in one ear.

Sorry about your teeth, OP. Kids can cause damage sometimes.

So sorry OP! I feel you. several years ago my DD broke my nose by jumping while I bent to hug her. Kids can be dangerous! I hope the dentist finds it isn't as bad as you thought and that it gets fixed quickly.

Ouch, so sorry! I hope you won’t need crowns. I broke a front tooth as a kid that the dentist was able to repair with composite. You couldn’t see the difference. They don’t last forever, but my first one lasted 20 years. Hopefully it’s an easy-ish fix for you.

I find it a miracle that my kids didn’t knock it out, since they smashed their heads into my chin a few times. My youngest did scratch my eye as a baby. He flailed his arm while nursing and his finger somehow caught in my eye socket — ugh!

I didnt break my teeth, but same thing basically lol.

Ouch, so sorry. My mom was a special ed teacher and had to take classes on safely maneuvering around children to prevent this exact kind of injury, which can happen on any situation, but is much more frequent when you have children who make a lot of sudden moves. When I had my youngest, she taught me to always have my head to the side to prevent this exact injury. I think it is called positional self-defense or something like that.

Wow thank you for all the kindness and stories! I'm waiting on the dentist to tell me how bad it is but my guess is one will definitely be a crown. Sucks.
