In DC, I love it here and will probably never move. My spouse and I are both fully remote. Our kids go to school here and our community is here.

I split my time between MD and MA.

Most of my remote workers still live in the DC area so they can get the cola for DC.

Like many here, still in MoCo. I’m a fed who is 100% remote but I’m not confident that won’t change in the future.

Stayed in Fairfax County. Jobs change and our next jobs will still probably be here so why lose the schools, low mortgage interest rate, and network?

Does your company allow you to live / work in Canada?

Yes it’s an international firm that’s incorporated or has contractors in most countries. This was something in looked for in my last job hunt.

Austin. Sold the rowhouse and paid the same price for a much bigger house in a fancier neighborhood with great public schools.

In DC. My spouse is a fed who goes in one day per week, sometimes two. We've considered moving further out, but it seems like it would probably just be inconvenient and we don't feel confident that feds won't be required to go in more. If my spouse was remote we'd probably leave the DMV for western VA or the Carolinas.

Frederick, where my spouse works. I was commuting into DC and hating it, just started a remote job, but also worried I'm still close enough that the policy could change on me and I'd just be going in to another DC office.

MoCo unfortunately. I am fully WFH but worry it won't last. I also go to work events about once a month and conferences in the DC area occasionally. My spouse is a fed and their telework situation is changing too.

Would love to be somewhere LCOL / more nature-oriented but too risk averse and don't want to disrupt kids in ES.

Except for the SCIF, that's my DH exactly, too!

My husband is 80% in person so we can't move. Falls Church City. I've explored cheaper areas of VA and WV and man the schools are awful. I would hesitate with school aged kids.
