The big question is whether the 3yo can go to the kids club, both on the ship and at CC, which would alleviate a lot of concerns. I'm taking my two kids on a Disney cruise solo next month but they're both in elementary. It's my/our first cruise.

I guess. But if I were taking my two kids on a cruise I wouldn’t want to put the younger in the kids club all the time. I’d want them to be able to enjoy some of the stuff. And the shows and beach are a big part of the disney cruise— if the kid wouldn’t enjoy either, I don’t think I’d do it. Lots of three year olds would love a dinner show focused on Olaf the snowman, but some would be fussing and ruin it for the older kid. So I think OP’s answer is totally dependent on what her 3 year old would enjoy or hate. I had two that would have loved the shows and one that would have been totally irritated after 10 minutes of it.

I would wait till the three year old was five. Age three is not a great age for traveling solo.

But to answer your question, while I think it’s manageable, it also seems hard because 3 is a tough age for a cruise and your 8 year old would benefit from a second adult (nap time, a show at night if the 3 year old can’t make it, at the beach, etc). And I’d be so sad looking at the happy families with functioning husbands

NP. I feel this is really off-base. This might have been my own reaction years ago without knowing more. But I now see its healthy to take a vacation kid/I both enjoy, and DH can do other vacations with all of us jointly. This is really family-specific.

That PP must have a very insecure attachment style.
