Eastern MS. Live in Takoma Park. Walks to the bus stop at the Elementary School down the street. Takes approx 30 mins and goes directly to Eastern without stopping at Blair.

IEP.

Bus stops at our house at 650 am.

Bus drops off at our house at 345pm.

There's been a lot of heartache sometimes having to figure out how to best accommodate DC's ND, but this bus thing, it's a plus.

All MS and HS magnet kids that are in the lower part of the country ride the same magnet buses from across the county to Blair. At Blair they redistribute to buses going to their individual magnet school. The afternoon is the reverse.

So, for example, it is much faster to get a bus to/from Blair and Eastern. Takoma Park is further.

There are (or at least there were a few years ago) a small handful of routes that don’t change at Blair.

We live in DTSS, and when my kid was at Eastern a few years ago, their route was direct. The activity bus went through Blair, but the regular morning and afternoon routes didn’t.

Yes, many kids who go to Poolesville drive to their nearest elementary and catch the bus. Clarksville, up at 5:30, bus at 6:25.

We carpool to Wheaton HS and my student takes the bus home. The morning bus is far too early and our carpool is about 15 minutes each way.

My high school magnet kid (Blair) gets up about 6am, packs her lunch, walks across the street to the bus stop at 6:50am and takes the bus to school. Magnet bus home is a few blocks further away. Home about 430pm unless staying for a club. Long day.

My routine is to get up usually after they have left and get ready for work. Yay for independent kids.

I was going to say that sounds like a short day. DD up at 6, walks to bus, bus comes around 6:50 and then back home 7 after activities.

Whoopee do to your kid. You know that most kids leave school at 2:30pm don’t you? Also I guess you missed the part where I said “unless staying for a club”. Presumably your wonderful daughter doesn’t stay every day? When mine stays for a club it doesn’t finish until 6:30pm. And then has to be picked up.

Someone didn't have their wine this morning

Yes I don't see why not

We have done both carpooling and bus. The bus is very early so kid much prefers carpool. Parent prefers the bus which is a short drive.
