AAP doesn’t change where a student is zoned for HS, but AAP centers in middle school may split to multiple high schools. You also see some kids trying to pupil place to a different high school than their assigned school so they can stay with kids they went to middle school with.

The FCHS students have fewer bathrooms as they “forgot” to put them in the new wing they just constructed so everyone is crammed into a few likely making all the misdeeds more noticeable.

My brother went there 10 years ago and it was a dumpster fire. Pregnant 7th graders, fights all the time, etc.

Look at high school ranking in US news and report. Middle School is just two years. I believe Woodson HS is better than Falls Church HS.

Yes - this exactly.

Bathrooms: the “don’t care” kids do care about vaping and having sex in the bathrooms and they take them over (denying anyone else the use of the bathroom as a, well, a toilet for one).

Those who don’t care are chronically truant, and when they do show up for school, they disrupt everyone else’s opportunity to learn.

They create a terrible school environment. And it only takes a few such students to ruin it for all the others.

But FCPS will continue, year after year, to ignore this problem because of their blind fanaticism with “inclusion.”

Your only option as a parent is to avoid those schools entirely.

Right now he’s got the makings of a great college essay, how a middle of the road white guy overcame adversity, diversity and the stench of the poors yet still managed to rise like cream to the top!

has more to do with socioeconomic status than ethnicity. It's no secret that lower SES leads to more issues at the school. At LJMS halls were regularly closed because there were so many fights. I can tell you my friend who have kids at other schools never had to worry about fights in the hallways.

Also impact things like PTA budget, parental involvement, sport and school events.

If you are staying look at HS. Woodson is huge, Oakton is medium sized and Falls Church is small. Falls Church is in midst of complete renovation - scheduled to be complete in 2026 - and will be gorgeous.

You are misinformed. Oakton has substantially more students than Woodson.

And Woodson and Oakton have both been renovated relatively recently. Renovated high schools in FCPS are functional but never gorgeous.

The renovated Oakton actually is attractive from a modern architecture point of view. They even put in those large-sized social steps for socializing and relaxing during down time. Not exactly functional.
