My neighbor seems to have this same sentiment, but we DO have sidewalks!

I report the ones who don't. Our county has an ordinance that you have to shovel within 24 hours of the snow stopping. I shovel our elderly neighbors, but have no sympathy for the lazy neighbors with teen kids home who leave icy sidewalks for kids/dog walkers to navigate.

Don't report me, my kid just woke up, and he's going out to shovel now! I walked my dog early this morning but had an 8am work meeting and was busy from there, so I couldn't get to it myself.

BTW, I kinda like walking on the fresh unshoveled snow. Ice, not so much so.

Teens grew up and are all in college on my street, and the next batch of kids is barely old enough to shovel.

It's funny how these past few years, when these teens were in high school, all sidewalks were pristine, because parents sent them out to shovel. My teen included. This year... we realized we had it good for a while, and now it's back to shoveling ourselves! It's not done as fast, I have to say...

What did you expect? And it turns out old ladies are shoveling and young men not shoveling?

Not sure what I was expecting but the walk and sidewalk in front of the rental home with 4 20-something adults and zero kids is very much untouched. The kids out shoveling are all ES/MS age, no HS/college kids.

Meant to add that I'll go out periodically to sweep after shoveling. Sidewalks should be fully clear before tomorrow's freeze.

We are rural so we have very long and steep driveways but no sidewalks.

I'm going out to shovel pretty soon. The snow seems to have peaked and it's only little flurries from now on. No point doing it earlier.

Some of us have to work all day and haven't been able to take a break from meeting after meeting to go shovel.

My elderly mom lives alone in another state. No sidewalks in her neighborhood. She pays to have her driveway plowed if there’s at least 3” of snow, and a very sweet elementary age neighbor boy comes over to shovel if there’s less than that. She didn’t ask him to, his parents suggested it. He doesn’t charge, but she gives him some money as a thank you. I’m so grateful for her kind neighbors.

I’ll gladly shovel my sidewalk to I can live in a neighbor that can actually walked around in
