Ballard is definitely nicer than PB.

I have both Pottery Barn and Target curtains. The Pottery Barn ones are better, but the Target ones are fine too.

Especially when it comes to linen, Pottery Barn is known for quality and a thicker, heavier feel. I haven't felt recently manufactured Pottery Barn linen, but as an Ebay Seller, I've resold the the vintage linen curtains and they are beautiful and hold up well.

Which actually makes me think, maybe you should look for the vintage ones on Ebay.

Pp, that is awesome amd thank you for the demonstration. $99 to $470 for the exact same thing depending on who's doing the selling.

I knew this was happening at Costco (relabeling fancy-pants brands as Kirkland), but didn't know it was happening everywhere

Truly?? How do you know this? I have PB curtains. They’re quite substantial. I’m not sure PB sells a product as weighty and structured.

It's called white labeling and A LOT of brands do it from luxury (or what they claim is luxury) on down to dollar tree. Everything from furniture to housewares to clothing to jewelry. They all buy from the same places and put their own name and price on it. Example:

Don't waste your money on Pottery Barn curtains, I got 10 different panels, all different lengths. Returned a few and the replacements were just as bad. The whole process of buying/returning and getting the 2nd shipment took about 7 months. And I still have to take them to the tailor to get them fixed. What a nightmare.

My pottery barn duvet is worse quality than Ikea's. I don't think everything they sell is that great and It makes you wonder why they don't have ratings on their website.

I’m slowly replacing all my curtains with Ballard, they’re a bit pricey but they look so nice

Adding that their basic curtain (cotton, no trim) is $70/panel, come with the loops at top for rings and are fully lined - I couldn’t find anything at that quality for basic curtains

+1, we have some floor to ceiling windows and none of target's in-house brand come in long enough lengths. Though I'm leaning toward Amazon versus PB or similar because we have a ton of windows to cover and it's going to cost a ton no matter what. I might just buy fabric and have them made if I can find someone able to line with room darkening fabric.

If you’re leaning towards Amazon, check out the Two Pages seller. They offer custom curtains. I haven’t tried them myself yet, but plan on giving them a go when I get curtains for our family room that I’m redoing: https://a.co/d/8vSy459

You will not notice "nice" curtains until they are $$$. Blinds are much more noticeable, but as long as the curtains are measured and hung appropriately they should be fine.

Interlining is maybe the cheapest part but ironically makes a huge difference in how they look and feel. But for whatever reason it doesn’t seem to be included in any ready made panels. Maybe because it’s so heavy?

DP. Nice, but at least we cannot afford anything at that store. YMMV

Ballard curtains are pretty comparable to what you would get from a workroom. That’s the niche they’re going for.
