You get an email.

This is horrible but I know it happens. We know someone bragging that she knows her 5th grader is going to get in. Older sibling goes there. Not that I understand how they rig lottery or just replace kids once they see the list.
I really do not think this is true. I am probably way closer to admin at HB than others posting on this thread and I truly cannot imagine them doing this.
NP. I will let you know in a couple of weeks. Mom at our school told a whole group the HB principal told her they have a way of making things happen. If her kid gets in or not, will let ya’ll know.

They absolutely transfer kids there who are having issues in their home school. I know of 2 cases. On the one hand I empathize and on the other hand it’s not fair either.
Yeah I bet we know the same situation. To elaborate a child who was a known toxic bully in our middle school disappeared and whaddya know the kid is at HB.
Connected parent.
Sounds like a win for your middle school.

I don't think they replace kids who legit make it on off the lottery. I think they exceed capacity by a little OR a kid leaves mid-year and they don't go to the waitlist and let in something through a principal side deal OR they go over by a kid knowing eventually someone will leave and then don't let another student in at that time. Many ways around it.
I mean is anyone cross checking who walks in the door 6th grade school year and the lottery results? There is no way for a citizen to verify that ONLY lottery winners are enrolled, because the lottery just shows a result of possible offered seats (no names, no matriculation, etc)
There isn't. Which is why FOIA would be fascinating for anyone who cares a lot about this.
