In the spring, one was second-team All-Met and another was honorable mention (granted, both sophomores, but another sophomore made the first team).
In the fall, one was honorable mention All-Met as a junior.
Is this all a fluke of age-grouping, or is All-Met not quite plugged into things? Or has the USSF scouting department overlooked a couple dozen superior players in the DMV alone?
Congrats to all three, in any case. One has signed to play for my Bulldogs. (Well, where I grew up -- can't really say "my" if I didn't go to school there, I guess.)
All met isn't plugged into things. HS soccer is social more than anything, especially around here.
So would it be the case that maybe these particular players didn't do much when they were playing for their high schools? Or maybe missed a bunch of games to play with their clubs?
I think if I'm doing All-Met for the Post, I'm checking with every scout and every scouting service I can find. If someone's getting called into national camps, I'm going to say it's safe to assume there aren't 30 better high school players out there.
I did find a couple of their football selections ... idiosyncratic?

Politics Yes!!! look none of these players were the key one that helped their team perform. These players had full support and connections, starts with parent, coach, local scout, the guy from social media who ranks players top even when they are average and only cause club has good connections like CEO of US club soccer or US youth Soccer, they are basically the heads of those leagues and of course their clubs are ranked top. FCV avoids playing agains real competition, VDA cheats creating all start teams from different ages recruiting players from other clubs.
All 3 players played in the tournament in France and contributed to the US team winning the tournament. Something is seriously wrong with you. Usually it’s coaches and scouts being abused on here, didn’t know that we were now doing that to kids.
POS

Politics and money got these three chosen.
Money -- no not al all.
Politics -- might just might get you in the door but not on the team.
Sorry dude. These were the best.
Tell me you know nothing about the actual process without telling me you know nothing about the process....

I don’t get any parent who can’t appreciate the work and sacrifice these girls and their families must have made to get to this point. That you’d take out your anger on teenagers because what in your learned opinion your child is better? You are an authority over US and College scouts and coaches?
No system is perfect but seriously how angry and small are you that you can’t just keep your feelings off the internet.
Congratulations to these girls, how great that we’re in an area where this can happen.

Does that go for the other 20 players chosen too?
Probably for many of them. There's a reason for a huge turnover in rosters for USNT players in the college years....
That is silly.

DP college is amateur part time soccer. It is a path way to nothing.
