It seems like a lot but it's fitting for our status and lifestyle. Some months it's less, other months more.
DH makes over 7 figures. I am a SAHW/M.
I'm 45.
Lol. Hon, you're a housewife. You have no status. Your DH does.
DH here in a similar lifestyle. My wife definitely has status. Her intellect, heart, kindness stand on their own. I would be where I am without her support. She is a lot smarter than me. And she is not ashamed to use the word housewife nothing derogatory about it.

Haircut every 6 weeks and highlight every 12 - $1500?
1 BBL treatment for discoloration - $500
Pedicures about 1x/month - $750
Cosmetics - maybe $400?
So $9-10k total?
HHI is over $1m

But $600 on botox every 4 months = $1800
$250 on hair cut and color every 8-10 weeks = around $1300
Gym = $20/month = $240
I have been trying to find the right combo of tret and moisturizer over the last year, so probably spent $500 last year on that
Other random makeup maybe $200. Maybe less?
$150 on a nice shampoo/conditioner brand
I spent $400 total last year on a couple treatments to get some spider veins zapped from the side of my nose.
No nails, facials, dental, or other random stuff. So I guess $4000 or so? Seems like a lot, but it's not a lot of appointments (less than 10 appts a year, for hair and botox), and I spend about 3 minutes a day on actual beauty stuff - wash my face, apply tret? People on this thread are going to say that, despite my claims above, i'm not low key, but i really feel like i spend way too little time on this and look disheveled most days. DH spends way more time (and maybe more money) on beauty than I do, and I wouldn't consider him super high maintenance either!
HHI around $2m, my income is around $1.2m of that.
Want to share??? I was just thinking this morning that I need a new moisturizer to pair with my tret. I have the perfect strength tret now for myself.
Anonymous wrote:Hair: about $700 for 2 colors and 3 cuts a year (I did less than this last year but should do that much ideally).
Botox: About $1,200 for the year (4x)
Makeup, Skincare, Shampoo, Lotions, etc...: probably $500 or $600 for the year
I do not get my nails done, or get spray tans, or belong to a gym, but we do have gym equipment at home.
I am sure I am forgetting a splurge here and there or a one off pedicure or massage. So maybe $3K a year?
41, HHI is a bit above $400K.

You sound kind of jealous, status can be either social or professional.
NP what professional status does an unemployed person have?
