You can keep the quarter open. My DD’s AP teacher already said she was, and that was before today’s closure.

I’ve taught middle or elementary for the past 15 years. I’ve heard parents say there’s no point in sending kids in for a shortened day, but I disagree. For whatever reason, I’ve always found these days to be the most productive days of the year. Maybe because everyone had a little extra time in the morning and we’re all rested. Also, any assembly or standardized testing or other special activities tend to be cancelled on these days. We get so much real schoolwork done! It’s definitely better than closing if it’s not absolutely necessary.
