Super Y was so disorganized. From practice schedule, game schedule down to never getting our uniforms.
Cap. What age was this? They must've played in the lower bracket. No year younger teams dominated the 1st bracket.

Yes this is true for MYS. when my DD was on gold, they didn’t even offer/let the girls know to try out.

Super Y is for ANY player who just wants to keep playing over the summer. There is nothing magical about it and there is nothing terrible about it.
It isn't free so the value proposition will certainly vary. From a clubs perspective it is an extra revenue generator more than it is a tool for scouting. It's just a casual summer league that may or may not include a practice schedule. There really isn't anything to debate other than your own personal schedule.
Complete and total money grab.
Might as well just slip a $100 bill in the coaches pocket, and then go spend your time in a better way."
What are you looking to get out of it? It was fun for my kid, he got some exercise, he was off video games for a while, he met some new people. I was satisfied for those reasons.

We're fairly new to soccer and travel.

I can see some potential downsides to the Super Y League... poor scheduling, too many practices.... not giving your kids a break, difficult competition to think of a few....
Could you elaborate on some of the reasons that made it a terrible experience?
Thanks, I was considering for my kid, but found out our club doesn't have a Super Y team, but im not sure if its worth it to try out for a another team.
