1. I am not a fan of rigidity. If he orders the same thing on set days over and over again, I imagine he's rigid about other things in his life

This is a very good point.

Ordering it all at once for the week - like a pp said order it by the day at least!
And should be able to cook something for 2 days a week atleast.
So many ways to bake with just salt and pepper and some herbs!

Don’t see this as an issue unless he wants you to do the same.

Eh I did similar as a young woman working long hours and living alone. Cooking just didn’t seem worth the effort for one. Now in my 30s married with kids I’m a great cook and eat a balanced diet. (Yes, in hindsight I would have eaten healthier in those years. But I didn’t gain weight or have any bad bloodwork so presumably minimal damage done. Young bodies are often resilient)

A few reasons why no

1. I am not a fan of rigidity. If he orders the same thing on set days over and over again, I imagine he's rigid about other things in his life

2. It kind of grosses me out that he orders it all on one day and puts it away for the week. But meal prepping for the week also kind of gives me the ick.

3. I'd have no desire to date someone who couldn't cook. It just means that when you've been married for 10 years and have kids, you're going to be the one stuck doing all the cooking. NO thanks. Even when we lived in tiny NYC apts with small kitchens, I and all my friends still managed to cook meals

4. It is such a waste of money. I get being busy and not wanting to cook a huge meal after work, but there are plenty of quick and easy meals one could make.

Too much of anything is too much for me.

I have and it is a huge waste of money to waste so I question their judgment and life skills.

I do think a man should know how to cook some basic meals.

Not only did I date one, I married him.

He still doesn’t really cook.

This. I started cooking when my kid started eating solids.

Same. Super unappealing.

Agree and a huge waste of money. I don’t care how much he makes, terrible spending habits. He really can’t make himself an omelette, or roast a couple chicken breasts, make baked potatoes? There are so many easy meals a single person could throw together. Perhaps he is super high maintenance as well if she 1) isn’t willing to do this 2) isn’t satisfied with simple home cooking

Does he get all of it delivered once a week, or does he place a week's worth of orders (pre-scheduled) to be delivered each night? If the latter, I'm maybe a little impressed...

I wonder if he's ordering all at once to save the doordash fees. I wouldn't do this because the food won't be fresh by the end of the week. But I've had weeks where I did a lot of takeout because I was super busy or just too drained to cook. It gets expensive.

Is he vegetarian or vegan? As long as he will tolerate reasonable foods if you prepare them and or is willing to learn to cut vegetables/ cut meats or clean up afterwards then yes. Look for partnership skills. This is a good way to sell yourself on improving his life if he is worth it

That's a lot of sodium and fat. I'd be more concerned about his health than cooking abilities
