There won’t be enough snow to warrant closing the government. Employees without telework agreements would get a snow day if the weather was worse but it’s been a few years since we’ve had a decent snowstorm.


It’s a joke for those of us who can’t telework- over in the school forums everyone’s saying to get your contingency plan in place because it will be too dangerous for teachers to drive to school but it’s fine for the rest of us to drive to work?

Yeah, I can't remember the last OPM delay even, let alone a closure. Anyone?


I remember a wind event causing a closure March 2018.


We were directed to leave early a few months ago and the storm ended up being a bust.

Yes- my DH can’t telework and doesn’t have a great public transport option to work either. So he’ll either have to attempt to drive in or take leave I guess.

this person works in the legislative branch, eg, congress, which is outside of OPM, if they want to be. yes, it is that nebulous. "every member office is different," meaning the member can call everyone in to the workplace, even if OPM says delay/close/whatever. Hill offices are notoriously not flexible on anything. The House is in session tomorrow.
