I work full time and I’m in the office 4 or 5 days a week. I work out after my kids are in bed. They’re little, so bedtime is around 7:30. 30 minutes of Peloton bike or weights, 4 or 5 days a week. We have everything I need in our basement. I really miss in-person classes, but this routine is working for this season of life.

^PP above, I plant my kids in front of TV for 30 minutes if I work out in evenings.

I work FT, mostly outside of the home, and I do 95 percent of home/kid stuff. 530 or 6 am I can squeeze in a workout. I have to get the kids up at 630 because elementary starts early and I have to drive them there. Evenings are harder to make work, but if I have dinner made in advance, I can workout from 530-6 right before dinner. I have a treadmill and elliptical at home. Honestly lack of time to get in a good solid workout is the part of being a working mom I struggle with the most. Before kids I ran a lot of long distance races and lifted weights.

WFH mom with 2 kids and a good amount of flexibility to my schedule most days (but still have to get my work done and hours billed). I generally work out right after dropping my older one at the bus at 8:30. Like I’m dressed in running gear and head out immediately, or do an indoor cycling workout at home (which I can do while reading and responding to email or reviewing work items). If I’ve got a listen-in conference call where I’m not on video, I’ll fit in some strength training or core during. Some days I’m able to squeeze in yoga after my workday is done, even if it’s just 10 minutes. At this stage, it is what works for me and allows me to workout daily. My youngest is glued to my side and ends up in our bed every night, so it is literally impossible for me to “get up before everyone else” (when I am awake, my 3 year old who has a 6th sense for my location, is also awake).

Early morning. Luckily I’m a natural early bird so when I’m back people are just starting to wake up. Also take a yoga class on Saturday mornings.

5:30am is the only time that's worked consistently for me since having kids (7am on Saturday). And going to a class (in person). I used to be more consistent about it, but it's fallen off a bit as my kids have gotten older (middle elementary) and I'm more sore/out of shape.

I workout at the gym from 4:00 AM - 5:30 AM on weekdays. Honestly it is brutal getting up in the morning this early, but if I don't do it, exercise will not happen at all for me. My kids are old enough to be at home for brief periods. When they were younger, I would workout at home - still in the same timeframe.

Get up at 6 to walk the dog for 45 minutes (5k steps)
Walk after work for another 30-45 mins to get over 10k steps

Peloton on the weekend, or around bedtime if my husband puts the kids to bed

Full time but fairly flexible job. I work out in the 4-7pm window normally. On the weekend I go in the morning.

Work in the office 5 days a week. At the gym at 4:45 for a 5am class. I have 3 kids under 5 that I then have to get ready.

Anonymous wrote:Work at home parent with flex schedule. It's still harder than you think to find time for this! My workout schedule is extremely variable. My goal is 4-5x a week.

I just prioritize it and then commit to doing it when I have time. Some days I do it first thing after school drop off, before I have to hope on calls or get started on a project. But sometimes I need that time for personal administration (booking an appointment, following up on a test, vacation planning, etc.). So then I try to do it at lunch time and just eat while working.

If I don't manage to make it happen one of those times, I will shoehorn a short workout into the evening routine. Like tonight, my DH was also WFH today so he did pick up from aftercare, and I squeezed in a 20 minute workout and a quick shower while he did that. I will also sometimes do an online yoga class after kids go to bed (I will not have energy for anything more aerobic than that).

I wish I could have a regular workout schedule. Before kids I went to regular classes and I miss working out in person. But my schedule is so hectic, even with the flexibility (I guess in part because of the flexibility) that I just have to catch as catch can.

This sounds exhausting- like it takes up a lot of mental energy

I work.
I ride the peloton at 5:30am before my kids wake up. Twice a week I do group ex classes near my office.
