If I had known that some people were not getting their second choice, I would have put Wheaton as first, since I knew there was no chance of Blair. My son is hearing-impaired and wanted to take ASL at the only school in the DCC that has ASL, which is Blair.
I am wondering if you can appeal this placement, based on ADA.

Small class size, individualized attention, kind cohort, responsive administration.
I really liked the old principal--dont have enough feedback on the new one, but in general, the school was very good with addressing concerns we had (mainly about covid safety), and class scheduling.
Look, they don't have a million after school clubs and a PTA that raises a ton of money. But your kid may not really need those things. It's very easy to get involved with clubs and sports, and the IB staff are very committed to making it work. The teachers have been fantastic. English department organizes overseas trips, and everyone seems engaged and committed to helping our kids---and all kids at the school--excel.
A school with a high FARMS and ESOL population is never going to match the stats a wealthier school might offer. But my kid's classes have, on average. 15-20 students. The teachers have been great. The other students have been smart and dedicated. I don't feel like my student was pressured to be perfect or fail, but just to do their best.
I went to an extremely competitive high school. I'm happy my kid got to experience academic rigor without the toxicity of a zero-sum game.

Then your home school must be Northwood, as far as MCPS is concerned, because if it was on record as Einstein you would have gotten Einstein.
