I have both the PTouch and the wireless version that works with my phone. I never use it that one as I have to plug it in, connect to my phone, open the app, etc. The P-Touch is much easier.

to label my pantry items, certain switches in the house, my fuse box, little organizer cart drawers.

Everything kid takes to preschool and school. Spoons, Tupperware, lunch box, folders, mittens, coats, water bottle, pencils, you name it!

Yes, I can easily remove the labels after putting them on containers that I freeze and then thaw. The labels stay on well, but come off with a fingernail. I have a Brother P touch labeler, in case it matters.

I love my label maker but I use masking tape and a sharpie for freezer items. Or just write directly on the aluminum foil for some things. Also the label tape can be pricy, I would not want to waste it on something that will only get a few weeks or months use.

They don't take up much space. I keep mine tucked in the back of a filing cabinet and break it out every couple years. It's nice to have on hand because sometimes I have a very small organization project that only takes 20 minutes, and it's nice to be able to grab it, make my labels, and put it away. It would be annoying to have arrange to get one for something little.

Like we are now in the habit of maintaining multiple types of flour in our pantry (all purpose, bread, cake) due to pandemic-induced increase in baking activity. I recently ordered some good containers online and then I labeled them all, plus one for cornmeal, sugar, and powdered sugar. It took maybe 10 minutes but now they are all lined up and the pantry is tidier and now we always know what we have and don't have and where to put it when we buy some.

I have one but the labels aren't as sticky as I hoped. I can't imagine them staying on a dish at a potluck.

The most useful thing I've done is label the light switches in our house. I did it for the dog sitter but it really helped DH.

OP, my mom gave me a label maker years ago and at the time I was like "I have no current need for this." But then needs just... emerge. Especially if you live with other people. Kids love labels and it can make it much easier for them to stay organized. I don't know why, but if you put a label that says "socks" on a bin, the socks are more likely to end up in there than if you just say "this is the sock bin." Also you are less likely to be asked "where are all my socks???!!!"

Also, regarding storage of any kind (pantry, out of season clothes, holiday decor, old photos, etc.), once you start putting labels on clear plastic bins, you'll never stop. It's so satisfying. I love my "Winter Gear" bin, my "Swimsuits and Sun Gear" bin, my "Kid Art and Mementos, 2020-2024" bin. I know where everything is. And thanks to the label, anyone else can too.

My pantry has clear bins with medical supplies. I used a Nimbot to label them so my family doesn't have to dig for the Advil or bandaids.
