My daughters did GS camp and found it too rustic. I agreed after seeing the set up - so many uncomfortable beds squished together, dark cabin, mosquito netting, toilet might as well be an outhouse, etc.

I paid a kid $100 to bully my kid. Best investment of my life.

About $1500- $2000 for a 3-week session (cost has varied slightly each year), but that’s with a lot of very generous financial aid. I love her camp and am so grateful that they’ve made camp a possibility for her.

That's really cheap! Is it subsidized by a religious organization? Do they have enough well paid staff?

This was Virginia 4H camp, it’s connected to the state / VA Tech in some capacity so maybe it’s subsidized? DD went two years in a row and said it was pretty good.

$10k for 7 weeks for one kid
$13k for 6.5 weeks for the other

It is definitely a luxury good AND my kids love it.

It has all gone up a lot post-Covid. But, it can still be cheaper to fly your DC to another state than go to camp near DC. Head West and it is often cheaper than East Coast also.
