But now it doesn’t seem like a big deal. And traveling to other colleges is such a breeze with apps for flights, public transportation and Uber. I wouldn’t be surprised if kids like having a significant other at a different college for an excuse to travel and go see them.

From what I've seen, the female initiates the breakup 60-70% of the time. Usually some frat god turns her head.

why don’t they go to those anyway? Weird to not attend just because you have a girlfriend from home. You still need friends!Anonymous wrote:They break up by Thanksgiving --- which is unfortunate, b/c at that point, they have missed the initial meet and mix in the first few months of college when everyone is looking to find their group of people.
Anonymous wrote:lol no need to break up just date girls at college and keep your high school girlfriend as your holiday / summer girl.
Anonymous wrote:Absolutely. A few broke up in April after they realized they weren’t going to the same colleges and wouldn’t stay together. That seemed extreme to me. Why not enjoy Prom and All Night Grad and all the other fun stuff together? Most of the couples I knew from my DD’s class of 23 broke up over the summer.
