If used to be hosted by the Adventure theater in Glen Echo who handled the coaching, teaching and tickets and what not which was fun. unfortunately they ran into turmoil and had a leadership change so the school had to start hosting it last year.

Please send the teachers running the school play lots of extra gifts, it's a huge task to take on to keep a beloved program going

I'm surprised that this is not more common. They perform Hannukah, Kwanzaa, and Christmas songs but none with heavy religious themes. Its cute.

My former school in Northern Virginia had this. We had a huge Muslim population so the music teachers even dug up some Eid songs

Anonymous wrote:Concerts really vary from school to school. Some elementary schools have a chorus, geared towards performance, while others do not. Some do a holiday program, some do a concert in January, some do something in the spring. Some schools involve all the grade levels, others just the older kids. Some schools do a play. Sometimes the chorus and instrumental music kids perform together, sometimes not. It's up to the staff and admin at each school to decide what to do.

Yes, they vary and the quality/quantity will likely be higher where the teacher is solely assigned to that school. If MCPS truly valued performing arts, they wouldn’t make teachers float between 3 schools.

Bradley Hills does this the last day of school before winter break.
