New Zealand, Tuscany or maybe Portugal. We could afford to live anywhere but being far away from our kids and grandkids make them all impossible.

Italy. N or S France. Holland. Or Carmel CA. Costa Rica. Not anywhere in Asia (am Asian however) or US other than Carmel. Most of W Europe near major cities. Not Africa nor LatAm. Not Australia nor New Zealand. Nowhere too hot nor too cold but seasonal. CR being the exception because that's one hell of a MF cool ass country! LOL.

Wish more people felt like you.

My immigrant family moved to that kind of town in the 1900s. It was the best decision they made on the way out of poverty.

I'm torn because at this point people matter. I don't want to be too far from my family in MD and upstate NY, or make my kids start over. So I'm torn between saying a much nicer house where I currently live in MD, or here but with a second home in the Finger Lakes or Adirondacks, or just full on move to Ithaca NY.

If I were totally unattached, maybe a close in suburb of Boston (where I loved living for a few years), Burlington, VT, or Anchorage, AK. I really like Anchorage but my spouse is unconvinced.
