I went to their site, and doesn't seem they have very many girls teams (yet?). Money isn't really much of a factor for me, but curious why they have deep pockets? Are they different somehow?

BRYC has lots of younger age groups - boys and girls. VYS is a great club, too. Highly recommend.

we prefer McLean. We have had very good coaches across different age groups and the coaching slate seems to have been pretty consistent

I would recommend Arlington as they have between 5 and 7 girls teams in that age range. McLean tends to drop down to 2 non-ECNL teams by middle school so if you'd like to develop mid-tier players, Arlington would have greater opportunity. My kids have played at both McLean and Arlington and we prefer Arlington in terms of coach and player development.

Valor is a newish club and it is in the western part of the county - Chantilly and Centreville. SYA and CYA merged to make a new travel club. Practices at Arrowhead, Sully Highlands,EC Lawrence, CVHS….probably others.

GFRSC has practice facilities in Reston (Lake Fairfax Park), Great Falls (Nike Park on the campus of Forestville ES), and games at these locations as well as Ken Lawrence Park (Tysons Corner).

First I've seen for GFRSC, do you know where they train at primarily?

stay FAR away from Loudoun Soccer they are a nightmare... Stick to McLean, VYS, BRYC, or GFRSC.

They're out in Leesburg. It's a slog of a drive from Tyson's area if you're not toll roading it, in which case it's a lot of money.

Also noticing a lot of "alliances" and mergers/partnerships at the top level. Is that a more common practice in the area due to the amount of clubs here?

Mostly in VA where they've created so many clubs and watered the talent that they collectively get poor results.

It has definitely made figuring out who is who a bit more challenging. I appreciate everyone's input.
