I didn’t think it was legal to smoke while driving or, be a passenger and smoke weed. Isn’t it like alcohol? No drinking and driving or smoking up? There are a couple of guys in Olney that set up shop and smoke weed in front of the Starbucks. I can’t walk by without breathing in their smoke.

I’m not even going to complain about the smell of weed on people as I walk through the grocery store because you can’t tell if they were driving and smoking or smoking in their own homes.

I remember when smoking was banned in restaurants. Before that you would choose a smoking or non-smoking section but all the everybody reeked of cigarette even in the non smoking area. We took a huge step back.

Just a matter of time - Virginia and all the other states will be the same.

VA already smells like weed.

Just to add - I smelled it on 270 a few days ago, I have smelled it several times on Muncaster Mill Road in Derwood. Montgomery Mall, too. But I’ve never actually spotted the culprit.

Why not gummies instead? The weed smells terrible.

NP. DD and I drove around looking at Christmas lights and one cul de sac reeked of skunk weed, despite not a soul being outside. The stuff is pervasive. I smell it on the road pretty frequently, and wonder if people are driving while stoned. It’s unnerving.

So sad. It breaks my heart seeing what is happening here. We need a no nonsense leader to get rid of the drugs

You can smell it at some intersections in D.C. Also, you will see some strange guys smoking and dancing ‘high’ near Metro stops and even on the platforms.

And you can smell it on people’s clothes and hair as they walk by. So gross. It’s ironic that we worked so hard as a society to almost eliminate cigarette smoking, and now we have this instead.

Is more weed use related to the increase in use of harder drugs like meth or fentanyl you see in the news? You can’t smell them but a kid smoking weed seems less harmful than one doing the other stuff unless it really is a gateway drug

Add Dulles Airport to the list of places that reek of weed.

People of all types and political leanings like pot. It was long past time for it to be legal.

It’s particularly disturbing when you smell it in the Beltway.

I’m a liberal Democrat and voted against legalization.

It is not impossible to make a dent in the problem. It is not impossible to make a dent in the problem of people smoking wherever they want in public in so many places.

Police used to cite and arrest people smoking in public and while driving. All the time. They still could.
