OMG, I do this all the time! I am still finding gifts from
Previous year; makes a great laugh and story. I always have enough so if they don’t get it one year, they’ll get it another year!

I can’t find one either. I searched high and low and it’s nowhere to be found.

Wow that's incredible. I can't find my husband the back scratcher I bought him.

No biggie. You’ll find them eventually - just give them on Valentine’s Day.

I had mine in the dresser drawer in guest room.

I did lose two winter knit caps … hoping they turn up.

I always shake out boxes and wrapping paper before trash goes out. We once threw out gold earrings in wrapping paper growing up and had to go through all the trash to find them.

My kid’s cedar chest/old stuffed animal coffin had a few in there.

I have to hide presents as well as foods that my special needs kid will eat all of if he knows where they are - I have enough trouble remembering that I take pictures of where I hide stuff now.

I lost a little craft kit for one of my kids a few years ago and found it buried behind stuff in the linen closet in the summer when I was looking for beach towels. I’m guessing it’s behind a bunch of stuff in a closet somewhere!

In winter, my husband hides stuff in the car.

Don’t stress too much, OP! It’ll make a funny story years from now!

Luggage? I did that one year and we didn’t find it til we went on our next vacation. Kids loved it though! After that the thought Santa was hiding their gifts!

Once I found a small wrapped Christmas package for me in Mom's closet in the middle of summer. I was so excited! It turned out to be a toothbrush. So I instantly understood why it wasn't remembered, LOL. But it's still one of my most memorable presents!

Anonymous wrote:I do that almost every year. Sometimes I completely forget the gifts exist then when I find them I realize what I’ve done. I’ve misplaced a pair of earrings I bought for my 18yo dd.

I know this isn’t helpful now, but what I’ve started doing when I hide gifts is to add an event in my calendar telling me to get the gift for the person it belongs to and I put the hiding spot as the location. Then I set alerts for a week before and 2 days before the birthday/holiday. It’s saved me quite a few times.

Unfortunately I wasn’t hiding these earrings so they didn’t make the calendar. I was showing them to DS and then I put them in a random spot when she walked into the room, but for the life of me I can’t remember where I stuck them.

Also for future reference, I do something similar to the above. I make a note in the notes app with gifts and where I hid them.

If it helps, two of my hiding spots are old bins in the basement and a cooler.

Trunk of car? I loved the idea of sending old enough kids on a scavenger hunt to find them, haha.

This happened to my mom every year growing up and honestly, we loved the surprise of inevitably finding them later in some unexpected place
