I have lived in GA and this post is BS
University of GA is 80 percent instate either Bible thumpers uneducated and or urban GA meaning suburbs around Atlanta both still believe Jews have horns and KKK is normal. Were there outliars to this of course.
Paying OOS tuition to GA is stupid financially . Object of college to get a job after four years you want your kid working in Atlanta awesome maybe a job.
Grad school acceptances from UGA not awesome.

Georgia obsession with UGA and football and frats is real. I haven't seen the level of backwardness - at all - that some PPs are insinuating. If your kid is OOS they are going to have to break into a group. Groups are already going to be formed by virtue of friends starting college together, or sports teams or eventually Greek life. So your kid probably should have some idea up front about how they expect to fit in. Honors college, an interest group, some kind of sport or frat/sorority would be good places to start.
