you wouldn’t buy it as a Christmas present?

I think it’s crazy too but if my 11yo wanted one I’d probably buy it as a present. She’s not into stuff like this yet though.

I ended up getting one for DD yesterday and the store shelf was pretty much empty (almost sold out the one DD wanted) than earlier this week. Certain Stanley cup styles, sizes and colors are definitely more popular than others.

Don’t knock it until you try it. It got me off my bottled water habit.

This is a trend I can support! Not screen/social media related, saving plastic water bottle use, dishwasher safe. Hell I’d buy two.

She wants to be trendy. Get accustomed to it.

There’s a great story about how they got popular in the NYT. Stanley is a brand that has been around for over a century and they make great, long lasting products.

That said, we have several at my house. I fill mine with iced tea in the morning and have it at my desk or in the car. My teens don’t take them to school or sports—Stanley makes a 32 oz bottle with a lid that is better for that. I like those better than hydroflask because they don’t get dented like the hydroflasks do. Much sturdier.

I was looking at them 2-3 years ago before they blew up and I guess I should have bought one then.

I would just get it. A few years ago my kid wanted the hydroflask, now they have to have the Stanley. I never thought a cup or water bottle would be a trend.
The cup version is banned at my kid’s school though. They sent out a newsletter saying they were sick of them falling to the floor from desks and spilling water. Our kids can only bring flip straw type water bottles now that can be kept in their backpack pockets.
