Canada Goose parka NWT for $100. Classic color and perfect length. Was on BuyNow on eBay. Came with coordinating mittens, hat and scarf.

Someone must have received as a gift, not their size/style and decided to sell.

Sorry to be a killjoy, but last time I was at a thrift store, I watched a bug crawl out of a shoe. It might have been a juvenile bedbug.

I like thrifting, but I won’t bring home anything that can’t be washed in hot hot hot water. I seal purchases on the way home to be extra careful.

I don’t want to turn people off of thrifting. I just want to remind people to be careful!

I got my kid a pair of Uggs a couple of years ago for $8, found Bauer ice hockey skates today for $9.
I do go 2-3x a month because it’s close. Don’t always find that stuff.

I just scored two long sleeve lululemon swiftly t shirts in great condition for $12 each. My girls play a ton of sports and wear these all the time. Santa is bringing a new one for $78.

I do a lot of estate sales. My best buy was a $200 ring that was incorrectly tagged and I had it appraised for 9k. But I know and love jewelry.

I’ve found a lot of cool stuff at thrift stores over the years, but my favorite is a vintage marimekko dress from the late 60’s/early 70’s in pristine condition.

Fast forward a few years, and when it came time to pull my wedding ensemble together, I went to our regular jeweler to get them restrung and was shocked when I picked them up to get a full appraisal with an eye-opening amount (I hadn’t even asked for one….lol…just the nominal/reasonable restring fee.). A second opinion (from a different shop) came back even higher.

Needless to say, that strand gets locked in a safe. And, while I’m not much of a pearl “type,” I do try to find occasions to wear them….if nothing else to remind me of our glorious wedding day. 🥰


What a wonderful story! Pearls are happiest when they come out to breathe and are handled regularly, so I hope you are finding plenty of occasions to let them out to play!

I love this! I love pearls.I was dating a man from family wealth and on Lundi Gras, they gave me a double strand with jade clasp to wear to the Mardi Gras ball and let me keep it. I hated giving that thing back when we broke up. I offered him everything (I got quite a few nice trinkets) and he only took back the family pieces. I still miss it 30 years later.

It was the Goodwill by Target. It's stuffed. I didn't even look at clothes.
