It's just fashion. Things are in, things are out. This muted neutral palette will soon be as recognizable as being dated as a kitchen in 1970s harvest gold and avocado green. Or a 1980s hunter-green chintz-filled living room featuring an outrageous amount of curtain fabric. But nothing-but-neutrals will likely be here for a while yet.
