They should have retired the show when Alex Trebek left/passed (don’t remember if he retired first). He WAS the show.

I think it is that combo of arrogance and insecurity that comes with being brilliant and ugly. It's a tough spot for a woman.

Sounds like they may still have her host the primetime specials in the future.

Why? I liked her even more for standing up and speaking up against the atrocities that happened to the concert goers in Israel on 10/7.

I developed a dislike for her years ago when she was constantly preaching about bedsharing, extended breastfeeding and other practices and strongly hinting that if you didn’t do that stuff you were an inferior parent.

I liked her! Either was ok. But 2 hosts didn't work. Ken has really found his footing. For an ordinary guy, he has quickly mastered a lovely stage presence.

Internalized misogyny?

Nah, I hate the guy too.

That MUST be it! Couldn’t possibly be that she’s super annoying.

Say the quiet part out loud. She's not conventionally attractive, and you think she shouldn't have the audacity to be on tv

NP. I think she is conventionally attractive, just not "TV actress" attractive. If I saw a woman who looked like her on the street, I'd think she was attractive. But Hollywood has a much higher bar.

However, this is true of MANY former child stars who continue working into middle age -- they were cast as cute kids and then they grow up to be normal looking adults. But if they can avoid some of the pitfalls of being a child star, they can continue to work because of connections and skill, especially in TV where there is real value in having experience on a hit show and understanding the grind and also how to do the non-creative aspects of your job well.

The truth is that she has starred on two hit network sitcoms and was the lead on a third that, while not a hit, did get picked up for subsequent seasons. She continues to work in Hollywood as a middle aged actress who is not stunningly beautiful and has okay but not amazing comedic acting skills.

No one needs to feel sorry for Mayim Bialik. She's fine.

I like her. She's a neuroscientist, and was the only real scientist in the Big Bang Theory.

I disagree with her political opinions, but I respect her intelligence and character.

Came off as arrogance

YES! This was exactly what bothered me about her. It was the superior tone she took when someone got the answer wrong. She acted like she personally knew all the answers, and they were dolts.

Np here. No, that’s not it. I love many other women. I find her incredibly annoying though!
