Our child reports they were accepted and promised $60k+ over four years. Still haven’t seen the email.

Do you think that means no merit if it's not in the letter? Or could it still come later?

I actually have no idea. But that is what it says in my DD’s letter.

Man. The college admissions landscape is changing so fast people are getting deferred from their safety. This is nuts!

The "safety" probably wasn't actually a safety.

Good point. I was just going based off the fact that they were already accepted to much higher ranked schools.

Higher ranked doesn’t equate acceptance rate. A lot of these “lower ranked” schools are really popular

We never got any merit in our letter. 🤔

Accepted but no mention of merit. Could that still come later?

If you haven't head by now, your child might have applied regular decision by mistake.

Out of curiosity- what other schools did your kid get into? These days the whole college admissions process seems like the wild wild west.

Used to just need a pulse and the ability to stroke a tuition check to get into South Carolina, or really any SEC school not named Vandy or possibly UF. I guess the secret got out that states with low taxes, warm weather, hot chicks and that don't shut completely down for viruses are better places to start a life.
