The same thing has happened to me three times over the last seven years. I get this leg cramp in the same area and then I'll get up super fast in middle of night and then whoop: vasovagal syncope. I get leg cramps without it happening by the way. I have one place in my leg that sometimes can cramp with dehydration

NP I’ve had this happen from gut pain - thought I was having a heart attack. Thankfully was not. My much more cool headed friend called me an ambulance jic. Our family has a history of cardiac issues- was very grateful to have it checked out.

Yeah, I didn’t know what it was until a helpful Labor nurse explained it. I just thought I was really sick every time it happened. It’s SO helpful to know what it is. It happened to me last week during a mole removal and I was able to tell them what was happening, not be scared etc.

The medical stuff about it seems to be really focused on loss of consciousness which makes perfect sense but I think there are a lot of people like me who don’t usually fully pass out during it who just don’t know what’s happening.

I am not surprised that he is not worried. This is common when you jump out of bed. Make a habit of sitting up for a minute before getting up. It will help!

Blood clot, stroke, dehydration. You need to see a doctor.

Talked to doctor who went over the symptoms. He is not worried. According to him, the rapid leap followed by peeing so soon afterwards triggered the loss of heart pressure. Called it vasovagal syncope.

I suppose it does make me feel better. But I do have annual physical coming up in January and will insist on something more thorough than just labs.

I just googled sudden loss of vision, and it says you should go to the hospital right away to rule out mini-stroke. You want to know if you had one, because then you’d be at risk for a stroke in the future, and that’s very important to know.

Leaping out of bed ^

If that happened to me, there’s zero chance I would just go on with my day. I would have headed immediately to the ER. It is very possibly a drop in blood pressure from leaking out of bed, but better safe than sorry.
