Congratulations both to your son and to you and his mother— parenting a kid with SN is no easy task, and though your post doesn’t say so explicitly I am sure a lot of your efforts went into these achievements as well. I hope you all always remember how much you have to be grateful for in one another.

Thank you for sharing and congrats!

My dd is in the initial IEP process now and I go back and forth between "this is going to give us all the answers we need and we can fix this!" and "she's going to drop out and live with us forever." It's nice to hear the success stories!

This sounds like a mirror image of my nephew.

But in his case my BIL was lucky to not get punched in the nose by the girls father when his unemployed 21 year old SN kid announced he plans in taking his girlfriend he is not married or engaged to on an out of wedlock multi week trip where they are shacking up and having sex every night with his 20 year old gf.

She dumped him after Dad found out. He started his new tech job after sitting home 60 days.

He also graduated in six months early.

I feel bad for girls father.

He also has a GF!
I say, impressive and congrats to him and his parents

You should feel SUPER proud.

Of your child of course, but also you and your wife. You must have handled his challenges perfectly.

Put your feet up and savor the job you have done as parents ! 👍

Silly. OP isn’t saying he wouldn’t otherwise be proud of him. Just that everyone, most of all his son, worked really hard to do well. I don’t begrudge OP this moment of pride and joy at all. Beam away, OP, CONGRATS!!!!
