Subject: Williams ED Bloodbath?
They got rid of their supplemental essays this year.
They had a crazy increase in early decision applications.
Read that it was a 4% ED admit rate, lower than past years.

What do you mean by this?
I mean the SCEA round (not the RD round), because you lose your ED ticket at those top schools which give you an ED edge (Williams and Amherst are exceptions). SCEA kids are often left to the RD round after their inevitable rejection/deferral, and too often settle for safeties as a result.

This is so true-and yet, at our private so many unhooked kids applied to the Ivy's and Duke-expect many unhappy families this weekend. Can’t figure out what college counseling told these kids and families, if anything. Don’t think they are doing their job. If you are unhooked unless you are struck by lightning these schools aren’t happening!
But a few unhooked people always get in from our private - so isn’t there always hope??

Williams is a reach for just about everyone. Most of use will not be accepted.
Can folks share their stats? I expect to see a lot of strong students in the rejected / deferred column.
