Two quality pairs of scissors. (Sure, a good knife is also great, but will cost you 3x as much).

Good electric pencil sharpener (if they have kids; ours gets used daily for 2 elem. schoolers)

the police don’t want to jump your dead battery or get the keys out of a locked car. There are also great AAA benefits like passport renewal, discounted travel, free passport photos 1x/year. Etc
