Yes. This is what my daughter uses when she needs to bring them. I don’t see Fanny packs or belt bags on anyone here. As for the phone, they are using Apple Pay and not actually attaching debit cards or bringing cash anymore.

She's driving, so it's keys, wallet, airpods, lipgloss and phone typically in there. She throws it in her backpacks for school/sports and carries it alone otherwise. This is actually what I've been doing too. Minimum in beltbag, in and out of larger purse as necessary.

"belt bag" you mean a fanny pack?

Lol a couple of years ago when DD started middle school she asked for one of these (not calling it a fanny pack) and when she showed me the picture I just could not believe it. My brain just could not process that these were cool again. But when she asked for a mini backpack I did become nostalgic because I remember wearing one in the 90s.

Ha ha, yes, but she and I and others I see tend to wear it crossbody style. In which case, it looks like a smaller version of the Baggu suggested. I was looking at that for a gift for her based on the gift thread, but I decided the way she keeps the essentials in the small bag and can toss it in her backpacks is working well for her.

Belt bag worn crossbody

Mine will use a wristlet or her lulu bag when absolutely necessary. But usually she just heads out with her phone or, if it is school/sports, two huge backpacks with enough water for 7 camels.

Every middle school and high school girl in my area uses a belt bag worn crossbody, with a few outliers using free tote bags.

It sounds like bags in general aren’t as popular elsewhere? We have had a lot of phone snatching and I don’t like the idea of my kid having a wallet attached to her phone and losing everything at once. In the winter she keeps her belt bag under her winter coat and then has a separate lanyard for her bus pass over her jacket- the lanyards for passes were a trend started by our local university students after they were all given bus passes. I appreciate it because my DD isn’t unzipping a bag and flashing everything if she just needs to get on the bus.

OP here. Thanks so much for these thoughtful replies! It seems like purses have gone the way of my skinny jeans.

My daughter is not into those fanny pack things but maybe a wristlet!

I got one at Brandy Melville for my 9th grader. It’ll be good for holiday concerts, trips to the mall or movies, and so on. Let’s see if she actually uses it, but I figured if they’re selling them there, it must be somewhat socially acceptable. 😅

I grew up not using a purse and I was the only one, so felt weird. Apparently I was ahead of my time. Can pads fit in a wristlet?

Mine has a purse but also doesn't use it. She prefers pockets, her phone case or the Lulu bag.

Mine has a mini backpack that looks like a school backpack but is smaller and cuter. North face, hershel, and jansport all make these.

Another vote for belt bag/fanny pack. I think they look as ridiculous as they did in the 90s, but it's what my daughter uses. She wears it crossbody rather than around the middle. Lululemon has one and there are cheaper knock offs available - which is what my kid has.

This! It's in her car while at school, but she needs it for the mall and out with friends when she doesn't have her backpack.
