The question is as a highschool admin/admissions, which k-8 parochial/private schools do a great job at preparing their student for high school and beyond

Shhhhh!

Don't bother to try and sell these people on Catholic schools. Let them marinate in their own ignorance.

We don't need any more education bargain shoppers who don't have the faintest idea about the Catholic schools or the faith in our schools.

Have kids that went through Langley to two different rigorous high schools and were both well prepared.

Thank you to everyone who’s answered the question! It’s more not what school sends where but what K- 8 (parochial, privates etc) in the area are notable for having a good track record of kids who are well prepared for highschool ! For example: reading, writing, math they are ready to go and don’t need summer enrichment or are struggling

Great question! I too would like to know.

My kids did chds and then Sidwell. Very well prepared.

In general, the kids who start at places like sidwell and gds in 9th grade do very well. Admissions is super competitive for 9th grade and the kids all have a track record of academic excellence. By contrast, the lifers were admitted based on a two hour WPSII test and a play date when they were 3 or 4 years old (as well as based on the pedigree and bank accounts of the parents LOL), and it's overall, a less impressive group.

We are looking at schools and thought it would be valuable to get feedback on the other side to see where to start (yes we know lots can change in 8 years)!

Thank you!

Parochial schools sure if you want a kid indoctrinated and not taught science

I don't understand this trolling? Is this driven by ignorance or hate? Catholicism isn't evangelicalism. The Church has long recognized evolution, the big bang, etc.

Even many evangelical schools teach evolution and all the other parts of mainstream science just the same as any public school would teach them, often using the same textbooks as a local public might use. The provocative poster either is a bigot or a troll (and my bet is troll).

Great to see Woods mentioned so often! Doesn't get a lot of love here. We enjoyed our time and DD was extremely prepared for HS.

St pats, NPS, Norwood all come prepared. Less experience w little Langley at our school. Public school kids admitted in 9th are very bright but typically behind in writing and foreign language. They can usually catch up by end of 9th.
