I'm not Christian and am part of another minority religion but I LOVE Christmas decor that is festive, fun, and full of lights. Brings so joy and light to a time of year that is gray and cold and dark so early.

Do I want a nativity scene in my office? Obviously not. But a big tree and a bunch of tinsel and fake holly and lights and all that? Sure! Menorah is welcome too.

I feel like this about Halloween and everything else too. Hate cancelling to fun stuff for others due to a few sticks in the mud.

We ended up not having any public areas for displays, but you could decorate your personal office area (tastefully and respectfully). There was a hot moment in time when we allowed decorating in public areas near the elevators - anyone of any background could order a table and decorate according to their faith. Even that got a lot of flack so we decided to just simplify the experience for everyone with nothing. I have always felt it's a great time of year for us to be more acquainted with other experiences but that is not the view many take.

Why can’t we have a tree and a menorah? Why can’t we have Christmas and Hanukkah decorations? That covers the two major December holidays celebrated in America…where we live and work.

Being inclusive means celebrating diversity. It doesn’t mean opting out and glossing over major holidays.

The US is a Christian nation, even at the level of federal government. Look at our federal holidays, among many other indicia, if you want proof.

Non-Christians are welcome and free to worship as they please. And we’re not establishing a national religion. Those are the ground rules.

HOWEVAH. There is nothing wrong with companies celebrating “the holidays” with Christmas trees, Santa crap, donkeys, all that stuff. Throw a minnorah (sp?) in the lobby as well if it makes you happy.

I was very happy to see our building has a massive Christmas tree display in the lobby… big fake gifts with shiny bows, snow, ice skating white people in LL Bean coats. Baby Jesus loves us, Americans best of all, and there’s nothing wrong with reminding people of that fact.

OP--my suggestion is that you celebrate with winter based decoration. Snow and winter decorations, snowflakes, snow people, candy canes, Nutcracker soldiers, penguins, candles, ornaments (make sure to have some in blue & white to be inclusive of Hannukkah). There are lots of non-religious seasonal decorations that can be used to make things festive without highlighting one religion's observation of the Winter Solstice other others.

I feel like we've jumped back into the 90s. My first job in 1996 we had a kerfuffle about "holiday trees", and they decided no office decorations (employees could decorate their offices / desks of course.
