Do you SAH? I see so many befuddled dads running around with the kids at Trader Joes and the farmers market Saturday morning, its hilarious.

I WOHM so we go as family because I see the kids so little as it is. Sure wish I could SAH, but that's another thread. I guess in neither camp gets the house to themselves much...


The real day for this is Mother’s Day and it’s infuriating.

Once a week when I telework and DH goes to the office. But if it’s a busy day at work I barely appreciate having the house to myself. I try to schedule as few meetings as possible that day so I can enjoy the silence.

This is what I miss most about being single. If anything ever happens to DH I don’t think I’d ever live with anyone else.

Almost never. I went from working from home for over twenty years, with DH at work and kids at school and LOVED it. Now the kids are out at college and my DH works from home and NEVER leaves. I hate it. I loved my alone time.

I got married late so had about 10 years of living alone. LOVE it. Tried to convince husband we should have separate residences. He travels enough but I miss when I had house to myself all day. For some reason, kids don't bother me when they are here. Though I love my husband and hope he sticks around - I will never share again if I outlive him!

I SAH with kids elementary school and older. Spouse is in healthcare and works in a hospital.
I have the house to myself less often than I thought I would. I had two days last week. None the week before because of the holiday. The week before that, I had two days.

I don’t mean to complain, but I was surprised how often someone is effing home.

Interesting, I never want to live alone again. Coming home to an empty house for the rest of my life sounds so dull. I hope my spouse sticks around, but if not I will either find another partner or simply get roommates, golden girls style.

DH is taking the kids to his parents for a few days over Christmas week and I'm staying home. I can't wait!

I’m home alone 2 hours once a week. It’s the best. DH gets so much time home alone and doesn’t appreciate it at all.

This was the hardest pandemic change for me. I've worked from home since 2005, my husband started in March 2020 and hasn't gone back. I've more or less gotten used to it but when I get a rare day at home alone I do enjoy it!
