Fake everything. More sustainable across the masses.

All fake because real doesn't smell and all like I remember from childhood.

Yeah, real is so expensive. I paid $45 for a wreath at a farmers market, $120 for a 7ft tree from Butlers, and $20 for 2 10’ white pine ropes from Whole Foods. I’d love to put more pine roping outside, but I’d need like 30 ft.

Fake everything this year. We already had the fake trees but bought fake wreathes and garlands for outside (on sale).

It’s significantly cheaper than the annual spend of $600+ for greenery alone. Maybe we’ll rotate real/fake every couple of years.

For elaborate set ups (let’s call it 3+ wreathes, 20ft of garland, at least 2 trees) - how much are folks spending on fresh?

OP here - Would you mind sharing where you get your wreaths and garlands that you can easily compost? Everywhere I’ve tried, everything is completely ensnared in miles and miles of sharp, stiff, tangled wire that’s impossible to separate out. I would love to be able to compost but short of making everything myself, I don’t see how it’s possible. Thanks so much!

Real greenery (at least a wreath and sometimes garland on the porch) outdoors. Fake indoors.

Always a real tree and one real wreath. Last year I had real garland swag on our staircase (first Christmas in this home with staircase) and it made a huge mess and didn't look nice for the whole month, so I bought a fake garland this year.

Real wreath on the door, fake tree and fake garland indoors. I don't like the mess, sap, etc. of real greenery indoors.

All fake. I'm allergic to the real stuff.
