Not necessarily a problem. I have several friends with significant IC agency roles who, despite being prominent professionals, explicitly have no identifiable social media or even web presence.

I'd take it as a sign of emotional intelligence, so a very big green flag.

If participating in social media is important to you, then its a red flag.

and as somebody mentioned, not having at least a languishing linkedin is weird. I think a lot of women who later discovered they were the other woman wish they had looked into why their partner supposedly didn't have any social media.

I want to add that I certainly don't think it's wrong to not have social media. For me having an account is a neutral, using it a lot is a negative. But in this day and age having no social media presence is something to look into.

I know someone who doesn't have any social media profiles because of his work. He also monitors when his name gets searched.

Most people in DCUM land and the people we associate with in person do, so the standards of those in the bubble is actually relevant here.

And come to think of it, I am from a very rural town in the west where most people barely graduated from high school and everybody I know from home who has a white collar job has linkedin.

Some people have deleted their accounts to protest against Meta and X. Not a red flag at all.

No way. My DH ditched it back at the end of undergrad because it was basically just a collection of partying photos he didn’t want out there (you know, back when us millennials embarrassingly captured all our nights out on our digital cameras). He hasn’t looked back. I’m a little jealous of how freeing it is but I’m admittedly addicted and like keeping tabs on people.

Yes, this is a red flag for someone who is gainfully employed. No one our age wants to maintain a social media presence, but most working people do. I hate all IT, have been SAH for years, but have skeleton SM presence. Make him explain this.

Yeah it is a huge one, at least if they are an urban educated professional.

No it’s a giant shining golden flag. Social media is for losers with no life to protect.

Green flag. Maybe he also works for an agency where this would be bad.
