At least 3 adults come with 10+ for each adult.

The younger family members feel pressured to buy at least 1 gift for each family member since they are now starting their entry level jobs and now can participate. Theirs only 1 couple with children so they bow out of gifting without any pushback. Plus MILs BF with the Roombas.

Your subject line says 'yelled at' -- seriously, if an adult is scolding you for not buying enough presents, that is not behavior I would reward with my presence OR my presents.

It’s a good time to see everyone together, we thought. But last Christmas we spent %90 of the time opening gifts, kids fell asleep while opening gifts , and we got to do nothing else.

So we’ll find a different time to travel.
