If you can't afford to go to a restaurant that has a menu, you can't afford to go to a restaurant.

I can cook at home. If I go to a restaurant, it's because I don't want to do the work myself tonight, so I'm not going to a place that cuts corners on service just so they can raise prices more easily.

DP here but that's a real PITA. Going out to eat should include wonderful service and not having to do any work for the people you're eating with.

The QR menu was so stupid. We only had one phone between the 3 of us because my DD is too young for one and I left mine at home. Every category (drinks, cocktails, entrees, etc) had a separate tab, so it took forever for the 3 of us to click back and forth in each category and then pass the phone around. By the end, we vowed to always ask for the real menu. It was a tedious waste of our time- we were at a restaurant to spend time together, not huddle around like we were getting late-night takeout.
This! I hate the QR code because then we're wasting a lot of time clicking through the tabs on our phones. Plus the print too small, so we have to expand and scroll side to side as well. It was a real buzzkill when we went out to dinner with another couple. First time we went out with them and we had this long, awkward silence while we all tried to navigate it. We shouldn't need to take out our phones when we're going out to socialize.

The QR code thing does not always work on my phone.
But, I prefer a menu. I know we are a bit behind with some of this technology in the US compare to some other countries. We are still paying with cash, credit card and google pay and sometimes check!

Same. One of the good things about the QR code menu is that you aren't touching a menu that's been handled a bunch of times and has everyone's germs on it. Printed menus are usually not wiped or cleaned between being handed out and, like buffet serving utensils, are a great way to spread germs. But, we're fine either way.

This. Also, browsing a full menu on a 2x5" screen is a major PITA.
I choose a physical menu if it’s an option. I think scrolling the menu is a pain, too. Not enough to make me leave.
