I just limit it like all other screen time. And electronics don’t come before real, live people doing real, live activities.

My kid is so happy that everyone is back to playing Fortnite. I don’t allow some of the other video games, so he’s been dependent on only a few friends to play it. Now everyone is back on and he’s been making new friends at High School from playing Fortnite together.

My kids’ school has an esports team. My friends 8th grade son plays basketball camps all summer and she allowed him to wind down and decompress with FN. after 2 months of “practice” he won $250 at a tournament earlier this fall..

Oh I’m glad I’m not the only one who was caught unaware be the recent interest in Fortnite. I believe there is an Eminem collaboration soon that my son is crazy excited about. He hasn’t played in over a year and for the last 3 weeks it’s all he has wanted to do with his free time. He plays with friends on Zoom or he uses my phone for messenger kids (he’s 13, no phone of his own), they all are talking, joking and laughing - it’s very social. He pushes back at hard stops, but what middle schooler doesn’t.

Both of my girls love Fortnite. It’s not just a boys game.

My DD has been playing again with a few girls but mostly boys. They scream at each other over the mic. It is rather funny but very high energy.

Ah, this makes sense! My 17 year old and his friends have all been playing Fortnight these past two weeks. My son has otherwise not played a video in 2+ years.

Yes, that’s what some of us are waiting for. If your kid currently plays, this could be exciting and he could still be into it. For some of us with older boys, playing on this old world from when they were younger, we are thinking they will lose interest Sat when it changes.

My 16 yo no longer has a game system. Him and friends are playing on laptops since these aren’t kids usually into video games. I dont if any still have their old systems. Like the others, I think this will be a short lived obsession and life will return to normal next week.

NP. I’m hoping for that. My 16 yo is nostalgic playing nonstop, as are his friends, an obscene amount per day. He hasn’t played in years and it’s making him cranky and miserable. He realizes it but is on again, right now. I think he will be also relieved when it’s over.
