Funny that we are all up in arms about outdated etiquette and traditions.

Today, a lot of what we buy is from from online and it took minimal effort, a couple of clicks and it was dropped off at our doorstep 2 days later.. The prices are public information and it should be assumed that the gift was bought at a black friday or cyber monday sale or with a coupon or some other discount.And just drop it in a bag... we don't need to obscure it in a box that has been tediously wrapped. The recipient cares about the gift not the presentation.

the thought of a gift should never be outdated.

But, a quick click is still "a thought" of buying a gift. It's just so much easier. I don't know about others, but I spend a lot of time online, looking at page after page, to find the best fit gift. I don't just click on the first item on the "featured" list.

We leave the prices on for close family. It makes it easier to return to the store. Even without a receipt.

Also agree the title of this thread is stupid. Give us some abandonment issues to discuss.
