Agreed - I swear these are all things we did as kids and now parents just want to helicopter everything. I don't know about you but my kids are much more tame than I was and frankly these are milestones they need to experience.

Alum here - zero need to go to Beach Week. Use that as an opportunity to do a chill family trip as y’all will have less and less time together as the years go by. Any charge your child gets could affect their accepted admission offer. It’s just not worth it.

+1,000 - Beach week is a BAD idea. The municipalities at the beach hire extra cops just to manage, and arrest as needed, all the graduating seniors at the beach to celebrate graduation. Your child may think this is the hugest moment of their life, but you know it is not, right? Don't do it.

We had a couple parents stay in the house with all the kids (20 kids total). I was nervous about it but fortunately it all worked out and kids had fun

Just a warning, many beach house owners will not allow a group of "unrelated" teens/young adults" stay in their homes. If they find out that their home has been booked for that reason, they can literally kick everyone out. I know it happened multiple times down in the Outer Banks last year.
Also, the parent who books the house may be on the hook for anyone underage caught drinking on the property.
Neither of my kids did the beach week thing-one went to Disney with two friends and the other just skipped it all together. They were both very happy with their choices.

Not OP but every year people make this trip. Parents make the decisions on if it is something they want their child to do or not. If it is not for you keep scrolling. If it is, maybe you can provide some BTDT advice.

When my son did beach week, it seemed that each house had a parent who booked the house and checked them in. Some stayed in nearby hotels and others went home. I cannot imagine taking on this liability.
